Joe Joyce started out slow but once he got going it turned into quite the painful night for the outmatched Christian Hammer. Early on Joe Joyce was eating right hands, looking slow and utilizing no head movement. But Joyce kept coming, landing his own shots dropping Hammer one time in the 3rd Round. In the 4th round Joyce put the finishing touches as he went full on body assault dropping Hammer three more times. Hammer exhausted and battered was mercifully saved by referee Victor Loughlin. The 37 year old Joyce improved his record to 14-0, 13 KOs while Christian Hammer falls to 27-9, 17 KOs. Established as one of the better heavyweights, time is not on Joyce’s side to become world champion. With Champion Tyson Fury unsure of his fighting status and oleksandr Usyk defending against Anthony Joshua, it seems highly unlikely that Joyce will be fighting for a world title anytime soon.
